How it works

Indication
Disorders of balance: • Maintenance therapy for symptoms of labyrinthine disorders, including vertigo, dizziness, Tinnitus, nystagmus, nausea and vomiting • Prophylaxis of motion sickness • Prophylaxis of migraine
Side Effects
GI upset , drowsiness , rarely headache , dry mouth , sweating , allergic reactions.
When not to Use
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the drug.
Dosage
Adults : Cerebral circulatory disorders : 25 mg every 8 hr . Perpheral circulatory disorders :50-75 mg every 8 hr. Motion sickness : 25mg half an before travelling to be repeated after every 8 hr . Children : Relief of symptoms of vestibular disorders : 5-12 yr, 15mg 3 times daily , 12-18 yr , 30mg 3 times daily ; Motion sickness : 5-12 yr , 15mg 2 hr before travel then 7.5mg every 8 hr during journey if necessary , 12-18 yr , 30mg 2 hr before travel then 15mg every 8 hr during journey if necessary . Always consult your doctor or pharmacist for dose adjustments.

Precautions
Since somnolence may occur, especially at the start of treatment, caution should be taken during activities such as driving or operating machinery.
Warning 1
Cinnarizine is contraindicated in liver or kidney disorders and porphyria.
Warning 2
As with other antihistamines, cinnarizine may cause epigastric discomfort; taking it after meals may diminish gastric irritation.
Warning 3
Cinnarizine may cause drowsiness, especially at the start of treatment; patients affected in this way should not drive or operate machinery.
